Thanks for thinking of me and AWS as a partner in the Elanco / Seresto Campaign.

All three concepts are strong and are a nice blend of various projects we’ve produced in the past…Sets in the studio, pets, vets, animal lovers, and conceptual table top imagery…we have done it all.

As the creative gets tested and decisions are made, there are a few things to consider as we start moving into production.

ANIMAL TALENT AND TRAINERS

We have worked with animal trainers in the mid-west and west coast with a lot of success. We can source specific breeds and then work with trainers to prep the animals to perform the actions listed in our shot list.

 

PET LOVERS ONLY!!

As we cast vets and pet parents we’ll be sure they are real-life pet owners and lovers. The interaction will always be more genuine and the ability to adapt and move with the pet naturally will also show through in the imagery.

One positive we’ve learned during the pandemic is talent can self-submit their casting audition. What this means for an animal shoot is the actors can be with their personal pet for their audition and we can see first-hand how they interact and perform while petting, holding, and being with an animal on camera.

For Vet and Vet Tech roles we have had success contacting veterinarian colleges to find talent who know how to technically handle the animals and provide the level of legitimacy needed when marketing to other professionals in the field.

 

DIVERSITY

Regardless of where we shoot, we should consider casting out of a major market in order to get diverse and professional talent for all roles. This is true for both humans and animals. Depending on the casting specs, it may be in the budget’s best interest to take the production to one of the markets we’re considering.

 

LIVE-ACTION

As the live-action component gets fleshed out we can work together to create a cohesive look across all deliverables. Our team(s) specialize in this approach and know how and when to focus on stills, live-action, or both at the same time.

 

CREATIVE

I am more than happy to talk through the concepts, and how I see each coming to life. They each have their own personality that we can lean into and add depth as we dive in.

Thanks again for the opportunity to collaborate with the Callahan team. I see a lot of ways that we can continue to evolve these concepts and create a strong campaign.
